SRK-Kajol chemistry makes job easy: Karan Johar

Mumbai, January 07: Filmmaker Karan Johar says establishing a romantic track between Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan is always easy because of the crackling chemistry the duo share on-screen.

“I deleted ten minutes of the screenplay which was devoted to the process of the two characters Mandira and Rizwan played by Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan respectively falling in love,” Karan told PTI.

“Seeing them together, the audience is convinced that the two are in love,” he said.

My look in ‘Pyaar…’ inspired by Shimit Amin: Uday Chopra

Mumbai, January 07: Uday Chopra, who will be seen as a geek in forthcoming film ‘Pyaar Impossible’, says that his look on screen is inspired by ‘Chak De! India’ director Shimit Amin.

‘I observed people who worked around me for the body language and mannerisms. I observed Shimit Amin, the director – the way he stands, the way he carries himself – he has a very geeky way of doing things. The specs that I wear in the film are exactly like Shimit’s specs,’ said Uday in a statement.

‘I also studied classic geeks like Woody Alan and Bill Gates,’ he added.

Priyanka wants to bury the hatchet with Abhishek

Priyanka Chopra has decided to put her fallout with Abhishek Bachchan aside to rake in profits from their pairing. The duo, who did Bluffmaster together, were seen as a good pair until their relationship went sour last year at a film awards ceremony when there was a misunderstanding between them.

Mumbai, January 07: Director Karan Johar wants to go back to ‘song and dance’ movies after ‘My Name Is Khan’, which is about the journey of an unusual couple living in the US post- 9/11 terrorist attacks.

‘I have given my three years, heart, soul and body to ‘My Name Is Khan’. Now I would love to get back to songs and dances. I guess it’s the need of the hour for me,’ said Karan who is known for making light movies like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’.

Akki and Paresh replaced in Hera Pheri 4

Mumbai, January 07: Fans of the Hera Pheri series might be disappointed with news that Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal are not be part of the fourth installment. It is learnt that Hera Pheri 4 has been delayed because both Akshay and Paresh don’t have the necessary dates required by producer Feroz Nadiad-wala.

Now Sanjay Dutt and Nana Patekar are being considered as second choices to fill in for Akshay and Paresh.

Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan starrer Life Goes On has been declared the Best Film at the Pravasi Film Festival which concluded on Wednesday.

A jury, including veteran filmmaker Basu Chatterjee and Bollywood director Rahul Rawail, named the Sangeeta Datta directed film the winner in the Feature Film category.

Studio 18 to release RANN internationally

Mumbai, January 06: Studio 18 will release Ram Gopal Varma’s keenly awaited drama-thriller RANN in the US, UK and UAE. The studio had previously distributed the producer Madhu Mantena’s GHAJINI in India.

The film, which stars the legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan with Paresh Rawal, Riteish Deshmukh, Rajat Kapoor, Mohnish Bahl and many others, is slated for a 29th January release.

London, January 06: Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie’s late mother Marcheline Bertrand has left her first three grandchildren $100,000 each in her will.

Bertrand’s estate has finally been divided after her death in 2007 and those included in the will are Jolie’s three children Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh, reports TMZ.

Their younger siblings Pax and twins – Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline – will miss out on the fortune because their grandmother’s will was last updated in 2006 before they were born.

Jolie and her superstar partner Brad Pitt can’t touch the money until the kids are 25.

Shiney seeks relaxation of conditions imposed on him

Mumbai, January 06: Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, accused of raping his maid, has moved an application before the Bombay High Court seeking relaxation of certain conditions imposed on him while securing bail from the Court last year.

“He is also seeking some papers which are a part of supplementary charge sheet,” said additional public prosecutor Yogesh Nakhwa.

The 36-year-old actor was granted bail after spending around four months in jail.
