Mumbai, June 09: The high-flying socialite Sheetal Mafatlal – for at least one night in her life – will have craved for the most basic of comforts as a local court on Monday sent her to jail custody. The court postponed the hearing of her bail application to Tuesday, which is why Sheetal – who is part of Mumbai’s jet-set – was forced to spend the night in prison.

The wife of industrialist and Mafatlal Mills owner Atulya Mafatlal was returning from London on Saturday night when she was arrested by customs authorities for carrying undisclosed jewellery worth Rs 53 lakh.

Mumbai, June 08: Farah Khan has her priorities all sorted out. Her babies and family first, then her friends aur baaki sab, unke baad. Khan will be given the Best Choreography award for ‘Desi Girl’ (a track from Dostana) at a forthcoming international awards event but instead, will dance direct a song picturised on Shahrukh Khan and Kajol for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan.

The song will herald the comeback of Karan, SRK, Kajol and Farah quartet after Farah’s choreography for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’s Suraj Hua Madham track.

Mumbai, June 08: After announcing that she was going to learn belly dancing under Shiamak Davar for her act at an upcoming film awards function, Kareena Kapoor has now backed out! Instead, Bebo will accompany boyfriend Saif Ali Khan to England where he will attend the T20 World Cup matches.

T20 has a promotional tie-up with Saif’s home production, Love Aaj Kal. The actress is slated to leave for London tomorrow.

Mumbai, June 08: Salman Khan is upset with Anil Sharma, who is holding the directorial reins of his most ambitious project Veer. Sharma has put the project on hold for a long time now. Sallu, who is emotionally attached to the project, is not happy about it.

Sources say Sallu, who has also written the script for the film, is trying hard for a smooth sail for Veer. Salman had earlier gone for a makeover for the film. He had beefed himself up and gone in for a bronzed look with unusually long hair for his role.

Mumbai, June 08: Bipasha Basu is embarrassed about the news that she is doing love scenes in her first Hollywood movie Chimera. The film, directed by Daniel Silverman and Tapan Sinha, reportedly has several intimate scenes between Hollywood actor Billy Zane and Bipasha.

The news, which was supposed to be kept under wraps, got published recently, leaving Bips embarrassed and upset.

She is going to Switzerland and France with daughter Nysa, sister Tanishaa and mom Tanuja.

Kajol decided to go on the holiday on her own as husband Ajay Devgan will be busy for next one month shooting in Goa and then in Singapore.

Tanuja is said to have been a bit reluctant to accompany Kajol, but the persuasive Kajol managed to convice her.

Mumbai, June 07: Soha Ali Khan has taken her boyfriend Kunal Khemu to meet mom Sharmila Tagore, as she wants to ensure that the two bond well.

In fact, when Sharmila was in Mumbai recently to meet her, Soha took Kunal along.

Chennai, June 07: Bollywood actress Gracy Singh will begin shooting Wednesday for a Malayalam film opposite superstar Mammooty, director Jayaraj said Sunday.

“Gracy loved the subject when it was narrated to her and gave her dates immediately for ‘Loud Speaker’, an offbeat venture. The first schedule will begin in Thrissur Wednesday. It is Gracy’s first non-Bollywood movie,” award winning director Jayaraj told IANS.

Chennai, June 07: One would have thought that after leading his party to a landslide victory in the general elections, M. Karunanidhi would put up his feet and take a break. But the DMK patriarch apparently has no holiday plans. Instead, he is ready with the script for a Tamil film — his third while in office.

What is surprising is that producers are still queuing up to turn his scripts into film, despite the fact that his last few films have been box office duds.
