YSRCP to raise AP’s Special Status issue in Parliament

YSR Congress Party on Sunday declared that getting a special status for Andhra Pradesh is its main agenda in the Parliament.

Speaking to media persons after an elaborate meeting with the party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Lotus Pond here, the party’s leader in Lok Sabha Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said the strategy has been chalked out and the special status issue is on top of their agenda.

The winter session of parliament scheduled to begin on November 26.

Mekapati said the Centre has given a categorical assurance on granting special status for the state at the time of bifurcation in the parliament and the subsequent NDA government has backed out on the promise. All issues pertaining to the state will be raised in the House, he said adding that they will demand an increased support price for agricultural products as the farmers suffered huge losses due to untimely rains.
