A youth Rajkumar attempted self-immolation at the Gun Park opposite Telangana Assembly while proceedings were going on in the House on Wednesday. However, the police and mediapersons foiled the youth’s bid to set himself ablaze.
The youth, who had come to the city to participate in the “Chalo Assembly” rally, attempted self-immolation in protest against the `Tadwai encounter’ in Warangal district. Rajkumar said he would sacrifice his life for the country like Bhagat Singh. He stated that he resorted to the extreme step due to `dirty politics’ in the State.
The police whisked him away to Bahadurpura police station in Old city. (NSS)
