Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has assured that the Congress party would promote youth in the forthcoming GHMC elections.

Addressing the meeting of Greater Hyderabad Youth Congress workers at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party was strong in the city and it could win the next GHMC polls. He reiterated the party’s resolve to end MIM’s dominance in the city. He said that the Congress party had committed a mistake of aligning with MIM in the past. However, he said that the mistake would be rectified and the party would ensure that MIM is wiped out from Hyderabad in future elections.

The TPCC Chief also accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of indulging in publicity stunts to keep the people’s attention diverted from the real issues. He said that the Chandi Yagnam being conducted by KCR was aimed at self promotion and people would not gain anything out of it. He also accused the TRS Government of delaying the projects launched by the previous Congress Government.

Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender said that the Congress party was fully geared up to contest the GHMC elections and claimed that it would capture the Mayor’s post. He said that the State ministers were touring the city only in view of GHMC elections and they were not serious on development.

Telangana Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav demanded that the TPCC reserve 20% tickets for youth in the forthcoming elections. He said that the Congress party could grow stronger if it promotes youth by giving them an opportunity to contest and win GHMC elections.
