Younger brother donates kidney to elder brother, saves life

A younger brother saved the life of his elder brother by donating his kidney. Mohammed Majid donated his kidney to his elder brother Mohammed Wajid. He called on Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan at Siasat office. Mr. Zahed Ali Khan lauded Mohammed Majid’s gesture, saying that at a time when brothers are fighting each other for property, 28-year-old, Mohammed Majid has become the cause of new life for his brother. Siasat and Faiz-e-Aam Trust helped Majid. On the occasion Trustee and Secretary Faiz-e-Aam Trust presented Rs. 50 thousand cash to Mohammed Wajid, Mohammed Majid and their mother Mohammedi Begum. He assured to provide every possible support to them.

Mohammed Wajid’s brother and mother Mohammedi Begum who arrived at Siasat office along with social activist Mr. Osman bin Mohammed al-Hajari narrated that Mohammed Wajid was working in United Arab Emirates and was associated with tiles fitting work. He played key role in conducting his sisters’ marriages, while hiding the fact about his ill health from the family, only to see cheerfulness on their faces. Although he became the cause of happiness for his family members but meanwhile both his kidneys failed. He was on dialysis for two years. Finally Mohammed Majid decided to donate his kidney to save his brother’s life. And on November 4, kidney transplant was undertaken at Deccan Hospital Somajiguda. 7 lakhs were spent on the complicated operation. The family paid the expenses by selling jewellery, other household items and by taking loan.
