Woman killed over dowry in Faridabad

Faridabad: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband and in-laws over dowry demand here, police said here today.

According to the deceased’s father Khalil Khan, he got to know that his daughter Asmeen has been admitted to Sarvodaya hospital as she was unwell. When he reached the hospital yesterday, he found that she had already died.

Khan has alleged that her husband and the in-laws used to harass his daughter, for dowry soon after her marriage in 2008, police said.

He alleged that her husband, Azad Khan of Kaili village, also used to beat her up after getting drunk, police said.

A case has been registered, police added.

In another incident, the body of a labourer was found on bypass road here with a polythene bag stuffed in his mouth, police said.

The deceased, Govind Raj Das was working as a labourer at a showroom but on the eve of Diwali he did not return home, his room-mate Anand said in a complaint at the police station.

Later his body was recovered from the bypass road, police said, adding a case has been registered.
