Woman injured after axe attack by husband in court premises in TN

Rajahmundry: A 32-year-old woman was seriously injured today after she was allegedly attacked with an axe by her husband in a local court premises in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.

According to Narasapuram DSP Sowmya Latha, victim Vasundhara was attacked by her husband Satyanarayana (35) on court premises at Palakollu where she came to attend the proceedings of a harrassment case that she had filed against him.

The couple hailing from Vadlavani palem in Poduru mandal of West Godavari district has been locked in a dispute for last several years.

The Palakollu First Class Magistrate Court had summoned both of them in connection with the case.

Vasundara was admitted in the Eluru Government General hospital from where she was later referred to Kakinada Government General hospital for better treatment, the DSP said.

Satyanarayana fled from the scene soon after the incident and police has launched searches to nab him, she added.
