Gandhi Hospital has confirmed swine flu death of a woman who died on September 5. After the test of blood samples of the woman it has been confirmed that the death was due to swine flu virus. Dr. K Narsimhulu Nodal Officer Gandhi Hospital confirmed that the woman who died on September 5 was suffering from Swine flu. She was admitted in Gandhi Hospital on September 2.
Suspecting that the woman could be swine flu positive, doctors had sent her swab samples to city-based Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) for testing. Confirming their suspicions, the test results from IPM had come positive.
With this death, the number of fatalities due to swine flu was two in Telangana.
