Woman blames in-laws for husband, daughter’s deaths

Faridabad(Har): Almost two months after a man allegedly killed himself after poisoning his five-year-old daughter, his wife approached the police today and blamed her in-laws for the deaths.

On June 26, Sunil Kumar, a resident of Arya Nagar area of Faridabad, had committed suicide after killing his daughter and had blamed his wife Renu and her parents.

Police had registered a case against Renu and her parents on June 27 and had started the probe. The deceased had left a suicide note in which he had accused his wife and her parents of harassment due to which he took the extreme step, police said.

However, today, Renu filed a complaint with the police alleging that her in-laws provoked Kumar into taking the extreme steps.

Renu accused her husband Sunil, his father Nem Singh, his mother Bindu, his elder brother Mukesh and Mukesh’s wife Hemlata of harassing her for dowry.

She claimed that she had left her parent’s home and was living with her parents.

“On June 5, 2015, Sunil and others came to my parents’ house and took away the girl and threatened to kill her if the dowry demand was not met,” Renu alleged in her complaint to the police.

On the basis of the complaint a case has been registered with Ballabgarh police station of Faridabad against Kumar’s parents and two others.
