Williamson calls on Kiwis to make `quick amendments` post stunning defeat against Zimbabwe

Wellington, August 03 : New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson believes that his side needs to make quick amendments if they are to bounce back in the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe at Harare.

Zimbabwe defeated the tourists by seven-wicket in their first ODI on Sunday, chasing down an imposing target of 304 with six balls remaining, thanks to Craig Ervine’s unbeaten 130.

Reflecting on his team’s performance, Williamson said that Zimbabwe outplayed them in all areas, while saying that the loss was a bit of a shame really.

The 24-year-old, who has been made in-charge of the team in the absence of rested Brendon McCullum, said that they lacked a bit of penetration with the ball, and insisted that they need to address certain issues to bounce back with a better performance, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The two sides will square-off against each other in the second ODI at the same venue on Tuesday. (ANI)
