Wembley scrubs up to give ‘grandest reception ever’ to PM Modi

London: The historic Wembley Stadium in London geared up to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will address around 60,000 British Indians and preparations are underway in great vigour to ensure the grand event goes without a glitch.
“We are here to welcome the Prime Minister of India and we have been waiting for many months for this. There are a lot of different highlights in his visit here and I think you will hear some good announcements,” Manoj Ladwa, the organiser of Prime Minister Modi’s address told ANI.

He stressed that the said the general mood in the UK ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit was quite jolly and it was bound to enhance the relation with India.

“PM Modi’s would be the grandest reception any foreign leader has received on British soil. There is great enthusiasm here and the Bihar results will have no impact on the event.” Ladwa added.

Prime Minister Modi departed for his three day visit to the UK today, where has a packed schedule upon his arrival.

He will have lunch with her majesty the Queen, and will address a historic joint session at the Parliament with his British counterpart David Cameron, after visiting the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament Square.

This is the first by an Indian Prime Minister to the UK in almost a decade and is expected to boost the economic and bilateral ties between the nations.

“Leaving for UK. I am hopeful this visit will strengthen economic ties between India and UK & bring more investment to India,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted before his departure. (ANI)
