Hyderabad: Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Mr. Mahendra Reddy issued instructions to all the police stations of the city making wearing caps compulsory for cops on duty. All those who violate these instructions will be attached to City Armed Reserved Police Headquarters.
Policemen were losing credibility by not wearing caps while on duty. The commissioner of police said that all the policemen should wear caps and also should be in neat and clean uniforms. If they do not do so, they will be sent to reserved police headquarters which is supposed to be an unimportant wing of the police force which is deployed only in emergency situations.
It may be noted that after the formation of separate Telangana State, Mr. Mahendra Reddy made many important changes in police administration which include people friendly policing with an aim to establish the credibility of city police at International level.
