Secunderabad passport office is located in the hub of the city. Close to it is an old masjid Haji Lal Mohammed located in Kummarguda, Secunderabad which is recorded in Waqf gazette. According to Waqf details the Masjid is located in Ward no 8 Block no 2 and an area of 739 sqyds land is recorded under the masjid. The area where the masjid is located is surrounded by Yashoda Multi speciality Hospital, Care Multi-Speciality Hospital, Helping Touch Hospital, Secunderabad Railway Station, Secunderabad Monda Market, Secunderabad clock tower and many big educational institutions including historical Mahboob College. However illegal occupants have occupied the valuable masjid land as tenants and the masjid area has presently shrunk to just 150 sqyds.

Abdul Majeed grandson of late Abdul Basit mutavalli of Masjid Haji Lal Mohammed told that the valuable land has been occupied by the non Muslims. A delegation comprising of local Muslims led by him called on Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan and briefed him about the situation. President Deccan Waqf Protection Society Osman Alhajari along with Mohammed Abdul Majeed and other musallis submitted a complaint to Waqf Board CEO Mohammed Asadullah Baig and told that due to silence of Waqf Board non-Muslim tenants are declaring themselves as the owners of land. On this the CEO assured immediate action and told that the land would be protected at any cost.
