Haryana: Several people injured when violent clashes erupted between the locals and police over the beef rumours in Palwal district of Haryana.
In a district which is barely a few kilometers away from the national capital, violence broke out after villagers stopped a truck allegedly carrying cow meat. Villagers also beat up the driver of the truck. However, when mob tried to burn the truck, police reached the spot, rescued the driver from the mob and took him into custody.
Police fired several rounds in the air when villagers pelted stones on policemen. Two policemen are also injured in the clashes. After the incident, massive police were deployed in the area.
