Venue-linked complications force PGA to cancel 2015 Golf Grand Slam

Johannesburg: PGA of America has said that they will not be able to conduct the Grand Slam of golf event this year due to timing and logistic problems, and added that they are looking forward to holding the event in 2016.

According to a Sport24 report, Masters and US Open winner Jordan Spieth, British Open champion Zach Johnson and PGA Champion Jason Day were expected to compete for this year’s title.

The PGA event was earlier scheduled to take place in October at the Donald Trump’s National course in Los Angeles. But Trump’s controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants forced the PGA to seek a different venue.(ANI)
