Urdu lovers appealed to attend National Urdu Kitab Mela

book fair

Noted comedy writer Padma Shree Mujtaba Husain, President Anjuman Taraqqi Pasand Musannifeen, Prof. Baig Ehsaas President HALF, noted poet Mr. Muztar Majaz, Mrs. Qamer Jamali General Secretary HALF and Anjuman Taraqqi Pasand Musannifeen, Mr. Syed Imtiyazuddin, Mr. Abid Siddiqui, Dr. Saber Ali Sewani, Mahboob Khan Akhgar in a joint statement said that the 19th National Urdu Kitab Mela has been organised by National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi, in collaboration with Telangana State Urdu Academy, at Quli Qutub Shah Stadium, near High Court.

All the major publishers are selling their standard books with suitable discount. Record number of books were sold wherever the fair was organised. Cities like Malegaon, Aurangabad and Mumbai created a new record. Hyderabad is the city of Urdu, but the expected enthusiasm from the book lovers has not been witnessed so far. The main reason behind this could be lack of communication and publicity. We appeal Urdu lovers to show the great Hyderabadi tradition of Urdu loving and attend the fair. They are appealed to purchase the book in such a large number that Hyderabad may lead all cities. The book fair will be open till December 20.
