Unnao: Missing bodies of two girls recovered, family alleges rape and murder

Unnao: The bodies of two girls who went missing since August 31 in Gangaghat area of Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao District were recovered on Sunday.

According to police, the bodies of the girls were recovered from the fields and they suspected it as a case of murder and the family of the victims alleged rape as well.

“We have found dead bodies of two girls. One body was found yesterday and another one was found today in the agricultural fields of Gangaghat area. The family had reported the missing complaint of the girl on September 4 but she was missing since August 31,” Pawan Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Unnao said here.

“They(family of the deceased) have doubts on two men who convinced the girls to go with them. We are investigating the case. The post-mortem report will reveal the reason of their death but prima facie it looks like a case of murder. The action will be taken against the accused based on the evidence,” Kumar added.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased alleged that the girls were raped before being killed and named three possible suspects.

“There was no one at home when the girl went missing on August 31. The accused have raped them before killing them,” said the mother of the deceased.

The father of the deceased also accused three persons (Budhilal, lalamail and Budhilal’s son) of being involved in the crime.
