Udhampur attack: One terrorist nabbed by security forces

Imphal, Aug. 5 : One terrorist has been nabbed by security forces after the Udhampur militant attack, in which two BSF jawans were killed.

“Two jawans have been martyred till now and a terrorist has been killed,” said Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, who is currently in Imphal.

“Our forces are engaging the groups and I hope very soon they will be neutralized. Such incidents are normally taken seriously by our agencies and our forces. So necessary and effective response will be given,” he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh added that he was constantly in touch with the district administration over the incident.

“It is certainly an unfortunate incident. I have been keeping in touch with the district administration and also the district collector over there, Shahid Iqbal,” he said.

Three heavily armed militants attacked a BSF convoy in Chaneni area of Udhampur district along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway this morning.

The militants, who were in army uniform, started firing indiscriminately on a BSF bus which was a part of the convoy on the way to Srinagar. (ANI)
