Uddhav, Raj Thackeray congratulate Nitish over resounding victory

Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackery and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday congratulated Bihar Chief Minister over phone for his echoing victory in the Bihar Assembly elections.

Conveying his ‘Diwali’ greetings to Nitish Kumar in advance, the Shiv Sena chief wished him to run a smooth government in Bihar that would pave the way for development in the state.

Earlier in the morning, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in an apparent reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the Bihar elections result marked the decline of a leader. “It will bring in a new turn in the country’s politics. If the elections are held in Maharashtra now, the results will be the same,” said Raut.

Meanwhile, Raj Thackeray also congratulated grand alliance leaders Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad, and described their win in the Bihar elections as “a victory for politics of regional pride, development and social justice”.

Raj wished them to lead the state on the path of development, so that Biharis do not need to migrate to other states.

He added that migrant Biharis from all states must aspire to go back to their own state. (ANI)
