U.S wants to be India’s best friend: Vice-President Biden

United States Vice-President Joe Biden has said their goal is to become India’s best friend and both the nations should work together as strategic partners to bring about a safer and prosperous world.

“Our goal is to become India’s best friend. The President and I, and the entire administration believe that the India-US relationship will be a relationship that will go a long way in defining the findings of the 21st century,” said Biden, while speaking at the 40th leadership Summit of US-India Business Council (USIBC).

“There is no reason why the two largest democracies should not continue to have increasingly better and more productive relationship. The two nations should work together as strategic partners to bring about a safer and a more prosperous world,” he added.

“It’s no longer about what we can do for India, it’s about what we can do with India, what we can do together,” he stressed.

Earlier today, Shobhana Bhartia, Chairperson and Editorial Director of Hindustan Times Group, and Indra Nooyi, CEO and Chairman of PepsiCo, were felicitated at the USIBC Summit here for their commitment towards building a more inclusive global economy. (ANI)
