A 30-year-old man committed suicide following harassment allegedly by his in-laws.
The deceased, D Balaraj, resorted to the extreme step at his residence in Venkateshwara Nagar Colony near Hastinapuram on Monday night. Enquiries by the LB Nagar police revealed that a few days ago his wife left him and returned to her parents’ house following some domestic disputes. Since then, he was allegedly being threatened over phone by some relatives of wife. Felt humiliated, he resorted to the extreme step.
In another case, B Anil Kumar, 26, committed suicide by setting himself ablaze. He was unemployed. On Monday night he took Rs. 120 from his mother and consumed liquor. He returned to his house in Bholapur in inebriated condition and set himself on fire. He died on the spot, according to Gandhi Nagar police. (INN)
