Rajahmundry (AP): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N Chinnarajappa today said two new cricket stadiums will be constructed in the East Godavari district.

“Two new cricket stadiums — one at Tuni and another at Gollapalli — will be built,” he said, after inaugurating the state-level volleyball tournament at the Arts College in Rajahmundry city.

“If the space is available for a cricket stadium in Rajahmundry city, it will be sanctioned and constructed. The government has planned to construct a stadium in every mandal of the district to encourage sports activities among the youth from the grassroot level,” he added.

Speaking about the recent rains and cyclone, he said the government was making arrangements for purchase of discoloured paddy.
