Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that the national parties, Congress and BJP, got washed away in the TRS tsunami in Warangal by-elections whose results were declared on Tuesday.
Commenting on the historic victory of TRS candidate P. Dayakar, KTR thanked people for ensuring his landslide victory. He said that the results have increased the responsibility of ruling party. He claimed that people were happy with the performance of TRS Government during the last 16 months. He expressed confidence of winning Narayankhed Assembly by-elections.
KTR said that the TRS had agreed to take Warangal by-elections as referendum. He said no damage could be done to TRS till it enjoys people’s support. He said BJP had suffered a humiliating defeat in Bihar elections and it secured third position in Warangal by-elections. The results have proved that TRS Government was performing better than BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre. He advised the opposition parties to shun criticism and play a constructive role. (INN)
