TRS forced Congress Govt to form Telangana: KTR

Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama has dismissed the claims of Congress party on formation of Telangana State.

Addressing a meeting at Hanamkonda on the last day of the election campaign for Warangal by-election on Thursday, KTR said that the Congress was forced to accept the statehood demand only due to the pressure from TRS and other organisations. He said that the Congress party had suppressed Mulki agitation in 1952 and killed over 360 students in 1969 statehood movement. He said it was Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s fast unto death, supplemented by the public awareness, which forced the Congress to surrender on the issue.

KTR appealed to the people to take a right decision while casting their vote in Warangal by-elections. (INN)
