TRS enacting dramas for gain in GHMC polls: TPCC

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has charged the ruling TRS party with indulging in “over-action” keeping the ensuing GHMC elections in view for political gain. .

Addressing the Youth Congress Greater Hyderabad unit meeting at Prakasham Hall in Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the credit of initiating developmental activities by identifying the needs of the people living in Hyderabad, goes to previous Congress governments only. He said the then Congress government had launched several developmental activities to transform Hyderabad city into an international level city. As part of it, the then Congress government launched Metro Rail Project, Outer Ring Road (ORR), Express Highway, International Airport, Drinking Water from Krishna, Godavari Rivers, Ration Cards, Pensions, Houses and development of Old City.

Keeping the GHMC elections in view, the TRS government was claiming all developmental activities launched by the Congress government as theirs, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged and said the Ministers and leaders were creating “tamasha” by roaming across the Hyderabad city. He called upon the Youth Congress leaders to wage war against the government and strengthen the Congress in Hyderabad city. He also suggested that the Youth Congress leaders strive for victory of the Congress candidates in the GHMC elections.

Delivering the presidential address, Youth Congress State president Anil Kumar Yadav said the Youth Congress would wage a war against the “anti-people” policies of the TRS government in the State and BJP government at the Centre. He also urged the party leadership to give tickets to the youth, who have winning chances in the GHMC elections.

Greater Hyderabad Congress Chief Danam Nagender, former MPs Anjan Kumar Yadav, G Vivek, MLA, Dr J Geetha Reddy, former MLAs D Sudheer Reddy, State Youth Congress in-charge Harshavardhan, NSUI State president B Venkat, several Youth Congress leaders, in-charges of Parliament and Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad participated in the meeting.

Later, they burnt an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he was harassing AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi with political vendetta.
