Tribal woman accuses Janpad CEO of seeking sexual favours

Dhar (MP): The Chief Executive Officer of Tirla Janpad in the district was allegedly beaten in his office by a tribal woman, who claimed that the officer sought sexual favours from her, police said.

“In her complaint to the police, the woman said she had gone to the CEO Pramod Singh’s office with an application under the Indira Awas Yojna, a social welfare flagship programme of Indian government to provide housing for the rural poor in India,” Ayodhyaprasad Kushwaha, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of district police station for SC & ST, said.

The CEO did not sign her application and asked her to come home, she said in the complaint, according to the ASI.

The woman then allegedly beat the officer in his chamber.

Talking to reporters, the CEO said he would take legal recourse against the woman for manhandling him. “I will talk to media only after that,” he told reporters.

Kushwaha said the woman’s complaint had been handed over to the Dhar City Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh for further probe.
