TPCC writes to SEC to ensure fair poll in GHMC

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has urged the State Election Commissioner to take all steps to conduct a free and fair poll with transparency and to direct the GHMC to make preparation of voters list along with specified BC voters with ground reality.

On Saturday, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy addressed a letter to the State Election Commissioner of Telangana State in this regard. He also requested the State Election Commissioner V Nagi Reddy that specified and rectified list should be kept on-line, so that people can easily verify and apply for the rectification.

The GHMC authorities declared that they have finalized BC voters list on November 26 and that they will be displayed in the circle, zonal and mandal offices and the lists will be supplied to all political parties. In fact, no BC lists were displayed in the concerned offices. Even in the finalization of divisions, there were several anomalies and obviously the officials came under the political pressures of the ruling party and its allies, they added. (NSS)
