TPCC opposes sale of government lands

TPCC Chief Spokesperson D. Shravan Kumar has strongly opposed the decision of Telangana Government to sell away nearly 8,000 acres of government land.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Shravan Kumar said that the State Government was all set to sell out nearly 8,000 acres of land in Hyderabad and other districts to raise funds. He pointed out the same TRS, while in opposition, had opposed sale of government lands. Showing old photographs, he said that the TRS had objected to sale of lands by HMDA at different places during Kiran Kumar Reddy regime.

Shravan Kumar said he himself had participated in the TRS dharna in July 2012 along with K. Tarakarama Rao, Padma Rao and other leaders at the HMDA office. He said instead of exploring alternate means of raising revenues, the TRS Government wants to sell away the government land. He said that anything could be created, but not the land. Therefore, he demanded that the TRS Government drop the proposal to sell away government lands. (INN)
