Three arrested for businessman’s abduction, robbery

Mumbai: The crime branch of Mumbai police today arrested three men in Sion area here for allegedly abducting a businessman and robbing him.

On Tuesday, the accused abducted a businessman at gunpoint at Kherwadi signal in Bandra East when he was driving his car, said DCP M Dahikar.

They took him to Fort area in south Mumbai, tied him up with a nylon rope and left him in the car after taking away cash, a laptop and other valuables worth around Rs 1.33 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap in Sion today and nabbed the three. The laptop and Rs 40,000 in cash were recovered from them.
