There should a fear of law to prevent rape of women, says Shobha Oza

New Delhi, Sept 7 : Expressing grief and anger over the gang rape of a 17-year-old Delhi girl, Congress Mahila president Shobha Oza on Monday said the government and the police has to be necessarily sensitive to women atrocities and there should be a fear of law to avoid such incidents.

“The governments and police have to be extra sensitive to women atrocities and if there is fear of law such incidents do not occur. But when there is no fear of law and when the goons have an upper hand we see time and again such horrendous incidents happening and in this case the government of Rajasthan should ensure that the culprits are arrested s soon as possible and punished.” Oza told ANI.

The girl alleged that she was taken to Jaipur last week by a man and a woman who promised her a job, and was gang-raped there in a hotel room by 11 men.

Reacting on the complaint registered against MLA Gopinath Das, from Assam for allegedly raping his minor domestic help, Oza said that action should be taken despite of the position he is holding, so that example is set to the people. (ANI)
