Job Description:
1.5+ years of experience in multi-node Teradata database and infrastructure administration
2.5+ years of demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain databases
3.Experience with:
a.Backup & Recovery software suites, particularly Symantex NetBackup & EMC Networker
b.VTL, EDL, and Tape Cloning and SAN technologies
c.Database Query Log (DBQL) for Query Performance Tuning and ResUsage tables for System Performance Tuning
d.Teradata Active System Management (TASM) for Workload management and priority/exception settings
e.UNIX Administration for managing Teradata systems (Suse Linux10)
f.Disaster recovery planning and implementation
g.Active data warehouse environment
4.In depth knowledge of underlying database management system products and tools such as SQL Assistant, BTEQ, Multiload, Fastload, T-Pump, Fastexport, SWS, viewpoint and DataMover.
5.Formulate and monitors policies and procedures and standards relating to database management
6.Expert knowledge of SQL
7.Advanced problem solving skills
8.Knowledge of extended features of DBMS technology is required
9.Ability to:
a.Work collaboratively to resolve complex issues and formulate innovative solutions
b.Prioritize workload and meet project deadlines
c.Adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
10.Willingness to work a flexible schedule and participate in production on-call support
11.Excellent oral and written communication skills
12.Bachelors degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience
