Tension in OU Campus as Police Obstruct 5K Run

Mild tension prevailed when the police obstructed the 5K run organised by the AISF students in the Osmania University on Monday, aiming at urging the campus students to make the proposed ‘Beef Festival’ on December 10 at Arts College a success.

The run started from Arts College and proceeding towards NCC Gate. But the police obstructed the run after it started. The police and students entered into jostling, leading to mild tension. Later the police arrested several students and shifted them to police station.

Speaking on this occasion, the student leaders pledged that they will conduct the festival at any cost facing any sort of hurdles. The students raised slogans against the communal forces. The police arranged pickets and deployed huge force.

On the other hand, ABVP students union has given a call for ‘Chalo OU’ on December 9 against the Beef Festival. (NSS)
