Telugu Chief Secretaries discuss post-bifurcation issues

Hyderabad: Chief Secretaries of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Dr Rajiv Sharma and IYR Krishna Rao today held a review meeting at Secretariat here on various issues related to bifurcation of officials and staff among the two Telugu States.

The Chief Secretaries reportedly touched upon the contentious turned issue of about 1253 employees relieved from the Electricity department of Telangana State. The court is learnt to have asked the two Governments to take immediate measures to retain them with salaries.

The meeting assumes significance as the two chief secretaries are ought to take a final call in this regard, it is learnt. The Electricity employees have been awaiting postings for quite some time as the two States are yet to take a call. Since almost 70 per cent of bifurcation is complete, the meeting focused on creating supernumerary posts, steps to repatriate staff and discussed on 9th and 10th schedules of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and the need for implementation of Kamalanathan Committee report.
