Telangana Urdu Academy will organise award function on December 14, at Ravindra Bharathi Hyderabad at 6:30 pm. Lifetime achievement awards for remarkable services in various fields will be presented besides Makhdoom National Award. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mahmood Ali will give away the awards. 5 Makhdoom awards will be presented for the years 2010-2014. Lifetime achievement awards will be presented for 2013 and 2014. 7 awards are presented every year in various categories like poetry, prose, education and journalism.
Urdu Academy had invited applications for the awards and a team of experts have finalised the list of award winners.
Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel and Director Minority Welfare Jalaluddin Akber will also attend the function.
