Telangana moots Data Analytics Park in Hyderabad

Hyderabad:The Telangana government on Saturday proposed to set up here a Data Analytics Park, which will be the first of its kind facility in the country.

State Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao floated the proposal while inaugurating the office of Techwave Consulting Inc, a US headquartered global system integrator.

He said that they propose to set up the park as data analytics is an emerging technology and has a good future, noting companies are flooded with the volume, variety and velocity of data.

The park is proposed to be set up in Gachibowli, an IT cluster. The state government has made a proposal to the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), an autonomous organ of India’s largest body of professional engineers, to develop the park.

Stating that the government is committed to help and encourage small and medium enterprises, he said SME Tower to house SMEs will be built at Kondapur. “Good address is important for SMEs to attract investments and Awe would like to provide the same to them,” he said.

Techwave, a homegrown firm, has opened its second office in Hyderabad. This will serve as global delivery centre.

Its CEO Damodar Rao Gummadapu said this was part of their global expansion plans. The company has 350 employees in the city and 550 globally. This new facility will create employment to another 250 people.

Techwave is currently a $50 million company and through expanding its global client base and strategic acquisitions, it plans to achieve $100 million revenue target by 2016.

The company has a goal to increase employee base in Hyderabad to 1,000 and globally 1,500 by December 2016.
