Telangana may get four new districts by January

Telangana Government is likely to finalise the constitution of at least four new districts in the State by January 2016.

According to sources, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has directed the officials to hasten the process of formation of new districts and he wants addition of at least four districts by January next year. This will increase the total number of districts in Telangana to 14.

Originally, the TRS Government wanted the State to be divided in 24 districts. However, the officials have reportedly told KCR that addition of 14 new districts was not advisable due to want of infrastructure and manpower.
