Telangana CS to present report on 14 new districts today

Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma will present a report on Monday to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on the proposal for formation of 14 new districts in Telangana State.

The report, prepared by Chief Commissioner Land Administration, will be submitted to the Chief Minister for review and final decision. Presently there are 10 districts in Telangana and the State Government proposes to create 14 new districts by March next year.

According to sources, in its report, the CCLA has proposed districts with 10-15 lakh population each and their proposed boundaries have also been defined. The report was prepared based on 2011 Census and more than 100 suggestions received from different political parties, organisations and individuals, have also been incorporated in the report. (INN)
