Telangana Assembly adjourned till Monday

In just about seven minutes after it assembled for the day on Thursday, the Telangana State Legislative Assembly was adjourned till Monday following ruckus created by the opposition over the issue of farmers suicides.

As soon as the House assembled, Speaker S Madhusudan Chary announced beginning of Question Hour. However, all opposition members stood at their seats raising slogans against the government. They were holding placards demanding that the State Government waive off remaining dues of crop loan waiver in one take. They also demanded moratorium on loans taken by farmers, both from commercial and cooperative banks and private money lenders.

Congress MLAs T. Jeevan Reddy, T. Ram Mohan Reddy and G. Chinna Reddy rushed to the podium. Other Congress MLAs too gathered near the Speaker’s podium and started raising slogans. TDP, BJP, YSRCP, CPI and CPM legislators too stood on their seats and protested against the government.

Amid this chaos, Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao continued his answer on a question pertaining to Arogya Lakshmi Scheme raised by TRS MLA Konda Surekha.

The opposition members did not listen to Speaker’s repeated request for resumption of seats. In a surprise move, the Speaker announced the adjournment of the House to meet again on Monday. (INN)
