Tejaswi takes charge as PWD Minister, bats for Bihar’s development

Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejaswi Yadav, who took charge as Bihar’s PWD Minister on Monday, emphasised that the state’s development is his priority.

“We had told the people that we want to see Bihar as a modern state. My department is related to infrastructure, I will focus on improving road connectivity and it should reach even remotest of the villages. We have to increase the pace of road development,” Tejaswi told the media here.

“I will sit with the officers and discuss with them about the ongoing projects, funds and then chart out a plan for future. Development of Bihar is my priority,” he added.

Tejaswi, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, has also been given charges of three portfolios in the new Cabinet.

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s other son Tej Pratap Yadav has also been allocated three ministries in the Nitish Kumar-led Cabinet.

In a grand event on Friday, Nitish Kumar was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the fifth time at the Gandhi Maidan here. (ANI)
