Teacher thrashes girl student in Haryana

Chandigarh: A teacher of a government primary school allegedly beat up a seven-year-old girl student and pulled her hair in Bunga village of Panchkula district in Haryana.

Malkit Singh, the father of the girl, in a complaint to the Panchkula Deputy Commissioner and the District Education Officer, said the Hindi teacher had thrashed his daughter and pulled out her hair, leaving her with a bald patch, after she failed to read a lesson.

Malkit told reporters that his daughter came home crying from school on Friday and she later revealed the incident to him.

Deputy Commissioner Vivek Atray has ordered Tehsildar SS Verma to conduct a probe in the matter.

Appropriate action will be taken against the teacher, if found guilty, the DC said.
