TDP opposes change in Pranahita-Chevella project design

TDP Ranga Reddy District President and MLA Prakash Goud on Thursday undertook a day-long hunger strike at Shamshabad in protest against the Telangana Government’s proposal to change the design of Pranahita-Chevella project.

Addressing the hunger strike camp, Prakash Goud said that the change in project design would badly hurt the interest of Ranga Reddy. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wants the design to be changed for personal gains and to extract commission from contractors. He said the original design of Pranahita-Chevella was not faulty and it got all approvals from the Centre. He said thousands of crores have already spent on the project and change in design would cause heavy loss to the State’s exchequer.

The TDP MLA announced that his party would organise dharnas at all mandals in Ranga Reddy if the TRS Government fails to shelve its proposal to change the design. (INN)
