TDP, BJP leaders hold protest at Hyderabad Collectorate

Several activists of Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party were arrested by the police when they held protest at Hyderabad District Collectorate on Tuesday seeking payment of crop loan waiver dues at one go.

Speaking to media persons, Telangana TDP president L. Ramana alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter and Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha has been collecting huge funds on the pretext of helping farmers. However, he said that the affected farmers were yet to get assistance. He said despite 1600 suicides in the last 16 months, the TRS Government was not willing to clear the crop loan waiver dues at one go. He demanded that the State Government pay Rs. 6 lakh compensation to the families of all farmers who committed suicide.

Later, police arrested Ramana, BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and other leaders and workers of TDP and BJP. (INN)
