Talks between BSF, Rangers chief likely next month

New Delhi: India and Pakistan are likely to go ahead with the talks between the chiefs of the Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers next month, despite the calling off of the NSA level talks.

“Talks are in the planning process. But there is no confirmation of dates,” BSF Director General D.K. Pathak told IANS

A BSF official on condition of anonymity told IANS: “We had planned for the talks between September 9 and 13. Till now, we haven`t got any intimation for changing the dates. In case the dates are changed, we`ll get the confirmation within one or two days.”

India and Pakistan on Saturday called off the National Security Advisor level talks scheduled for August 23-24 over Islamabad dragging in the Kashmir issue, which New Delhi maintained was not on the NSA talks agenda.
