Congress senior leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Friday accused Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav of encroaching upon a prime Wakf land worth crores of rupees in Czech Colony of Sanathnagar.
Speaking to media persons here, Shashidhar Reddy said he had written a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao seeking against Talasani. He said that the Czech Colony Residents Welfare Federation in Sanathnagar had represented that the land be allotted to them for using it for community purpose. After becoming minister, Talasani had assured that residents that he would get the land. However, the Wakf Board has refused to alienate the land.
He alleged that Srinivas Yadav visited the Czech Colony on August 15 and while addressing a meeting organised by the Federation asked the residents to encroach upon the land. He said Talasani’s action could trigger communal disharmony in the city. He said while some officials have advised the residents to take the land on lease through open tender, the minister is exhorting them to grab it. He said action should be taken against Talasani by removing him from the cabinet. (INN)
