Congress MLA A Sampath Kumar and MLC MS Prabhakar on Thursday demanded that all MLAs and MLCs, who defected to TRS, be disqualified from their posts.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, the Congress legislators expressed regret over Speaker S Madhusudan Chary refusing to accept the notice served by High Court on defectors. They alleged that the Speaker was being pressurised by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for keeping the decision on defectors in abeyance. Similarly, they said Council Chairman Swamy Goud was yet to take action against the MLCs who defected to TRS.
They said that the State Government should clarify its stand on the issue when the matter comes up for hearing in the High Court on August 20. (INN)
