Holding placards and shouting slogans, the Telangana TDP leaders and workers, including women activists, staged a protest in front of Civil Supplies Bhavan at Erramanzil against skyrocketing prices of essential commodities in the State.
As the protest caused traffic jam, the police swung into action and took them into preventive custody. A large number of TDP workers led by MLA and Hyderabad district party president Maganti Gopinath, participated in the demonstration at Civil Supplies Bhavan. The demonstrators raised slogans against price hike and the State government.
Addressing the gathering, Maganti Gopinath said the poor people were unable to bear the price rise of essential commodities, including vegetables. He demanded that the State government take immediate steps to control price hike of essential commodities in the State. (NSS)
