Support transparent probe but not political vendetta, says Oza

New Delhi, Aug 28: All india Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza on Friday said that the congress party has always wanted transparency in the investigation of the water tanker scam.

“The Congress Party has favored investigation, and if guilty, then we should be punished. However, this should not be done only on the basis of political vendetta,” Oza told ANI

In January 2015 , the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) had ordered a probe into alleged irregularities in the functioning of the DJB under chairperson Sheila Dikshit and Mateen Ahmed, a former DJB member.

In 2012, around 400 water tankers were acquired by the DJB and manufactured by a private contractor after receiving complaints of irregular service.

The purchase of these water tankers was aimed at ensuring seamless service across Delhi. The capacity of these tankers was supposed to range between three and nine kilolitres.

Commenting on the Sheena Bora murder case, Oza described it as a heinous crime and demanded thorough investigation.
