Sudheer Committee visits Warangal

Hyderabad: Sudheer Committee visited Warangal yesterday to review the social, economic and educational status of the Muslims. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of Collectorate. The committee received representations from various organizations.

 

Mr. Khalid Sayeed, representing Jamat-e-Islami highlighted the educational, economic and social status of the Muslims. He said that the Muslims are leading the life more backward that the backward communities. They need 12% reservations for their development. He told that a special sub-plan should be allocated for Muslims in order to provide jobs. Urdu language should be linked with employment. 12% reservations should be ensured before the release of employment notification. He also mentioned that the Muslims are engaged in petty occupations like autorikshaw, Thela Bandi and other small trades.

 

Mr. Mujeebur Rahman representing Telangana Urdu Teachers’ Association informed that RTI is not being implemented in Urdu medium schools. Urdu medium teachers are not being appointed. Many Urdu medium schools located in villages do not have basic amenities. The students are therefore forced to abandon education. He stressed the need for the appointment of Urdu medium teachers. He also said that it is essential to constitute special DSC for the recruitment of Urdu medium teachers.

 

Mr. Habeeb Khan, former ZP members, Mr. M.A. Majeed, Secretary, Blue Birds’ Educational Society, Mr. Syed Iftekharuddin, Ms. Zubaida Khatoon, Mr. Toufeequr Rahman, Mr. Mohammed Nayeemuddin, Mr. Mohammed Khadeer Ali (AISF), Mr. Mohammed Habeebuddin, Mr. Syed Dastagir, Mr. Syed Mujahid, Mr. Abul Hasan and others also made representation to the committee that the Muslims have become backward in all the fields of life and hence 12% reservations are essential for them. TRS should fulfill its election promise as early as possible. The committee also visited backward areas of Warangal district.
