Students’ Union elections held at MANUU

Elections were held peacefully today for the Students’ Union of Maulana Azad National Urdu University.

According to Chief Returning Officer Prof. P.F. Rahman, out of 1818 students, 1072 students exercised their right to vote. Their percentage was 59. Ten polling booths had been set up to facilitate the voting by students. Total 12 candidates were in the field for the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer.

The results will be declared on Thursday.

Three candidates contested for the post of Executive Member of Polytechnic Hyderabad. Out of 526 students from Polytechnic 421 cast their votes with a healthy 80 percent voting. The executive members for other schools of study were elected unanimously.

Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice Chancellor, visited the voting site with the start of polling at 9 AM. He appreciated the efforts of polling staff for peaceful conduct of elections. (INN)
